Parastin Big Dog is a broad spectrum anthelmintic. Ivermectin, praziquantel, pyrantel and febantel are widely studied antiparasitics, proving to be excellent in the control and treatment of parasitic diseases in dogs.

The mechanism of action of ivermectin is manifested directly on the nervous system of nematodes by binding to the glutamated calcium anion channels, gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA), which are present in the nerves and muscle cells of invertebrates, causing muscular paralysis of the pharynx and death of the parasites by asphyxiation and starvation.

Ivermectin synergizes with GABA by stimulating GABA conductance, that is, it stimulates the inhibitory system of non-vital functional activities, having a broad endoparasiticidal spectrum by paralyzing nematodes. Sangre De Tigre 50ml

The mechanism of action of praziquantel consists of an increase in the permeability of the cell membrane to calcium ions, which leads to a very marked concentration of calcium in the muscle, manifesting in spastic muscle paralysis, in addition to vacuolization and disintegration of the tegument (parasitic envelope), leaving the parasite inert.

Pyrantel belongs to the chemical group of tetrahydropyrimidines, which act by depolarizing the parasite’s neuromuscular junction irreversibly, resulting in spastic paralysis. Febantel belongs to the group of pro-benzimidazoles and acts on the tubulin subunit junctions and interferes with the formation of microtubules, and therefore, of the cytoskeleton of the parasite’s cells.

Nematodes:

Ascarids: Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati and Toxocara leonina.

Trichocephalus: Trichuris fox.

Ancilostómidos: Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum, Ancylostoma tubaeforme.

Cestodes:

Taenia pisiformis, Taenia hydatigena, Hydatigera taeniaeformis, Echinococcus granulosus and Dipylidium caninum.

Protozoa:

Parastin Route of administration:

Oral or mixed in food.

 

Parastin Big Dog Dose

One tablet for every 30 kg of weight. ½ tablet for every 15 kg of weight. In a single dose. In the case of puppies, administer a second dose once a month and then schedule a dose every three months.

In case of giardiasis, apply one dose every 24 hours for 3 days.

 

Parastin Big Dog 30kg Warnings

None at the recommended therapeutic dose. It may be administered to pregnant females, young puppies (20 days old) and debilitated animals. Keep stored and handled out of the reach of children.
